“No man steps in the same river twice; for it’s not the same river and he’s not the same man.” – Heraclitus
“When you see perfection within me you see God; when you see my imperfections you see me.” – Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson
“You must be shapeless; formless, like water. When you pour water in a cup, it becomes the cup. When you pour water in a bottle, it becomes the bottle. When you pour water in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Become like water my friend.” – Bruce Lee
When I try to make sense of my current and former positions in life I can see where God’s good work prevailed. On the opposite scope, my flaws and my mental hand’s ended up destroying any progress I had made. It can get thwarting at times when you think you have it all figured and the same bone of contention rears it’s toxic ways. Growth wise, I could’ve remained in these same placements but I don’t gripe; I funnel out what i really needed to learn. Despite the bad outcomes, i don’t get discouraged. I see the long-term use of temporary shortcomings. I know the bad times aren’t set in stone; they only form the cornerstone of my faith. Faith gets tested when things fall apart; so I step into my character, never out of it.
Recognizing conflict demands intimate exploratory. It’s to seek the God within us. Divine guidance is like a spring of constant water that flows. We must flow like water; in the words of bruce lee himself. It’s entrusting and endearing for us to be in a flexible state of mind. It’s the seen reality that makes things complexed; while the unseen reality is modest.
So the time comes where the season is done and God has done his purpose. Haste makes waste; quickly doing things results in poor endings. Don’t go against the grain. Know the ropes and never let irrational emotions get the best of you. Life is your teacher. Even if we feel slighted or wronged, every encounter mirrors back to us what we need to fix within ourselves. How often do we take time to ask ourselves if we passed the test of good faith?
We can look at and replay the failed attempts over in our heads; or we can see how we have been awakened to finally finding our feet. Conflict cannot exist without our participation. We are not the same person we were when we failed; that can be for better or worse. We are free to choose. We bear the fruits of our patience. Be the victor permanantly and leave the temporary. These are not punishments by our God; they’re flashes of our imperfections. Don’t take it personal; acknowledge and correct it. I get chills seeing how open my eyes become in being a better version of myself. The weight on my shoulders definitely brings the best out of me. I pray this impacts someone who feels like their pain is exclusive. This is just a daily reminder that no one person bears all of the troubles in the world. Fight on in God’s will! Our purpose comes full circle!
