“A person often meets his destiny on the road he takes to avoid it.” – Jean de La Fontaine

Life changing decisions can seem like a very exhausting and tiring ordeal. We can be clearly confused coming to a folk in the road. We, as humans, make things more difficult due to our lingering pains and unfinished business. Whether it’s an ax in the grind that’s preventing us from moving forward or we’re just at wits’ end, we either have to find a way or make one.
The roads we’ve traveled can be cold and downright cutthroat. Those past experiences, which may have instilled some uncertainty, can’t make it into our future unless we allow it to. By the same token, we also have to hold ourselves accountable and responsible for our own choices. Those imperfections can’t stop you; only you can put a halt to what you control.
I knew I wouldn’t have found my purpose and passion unless i recounted my steps in life. It was countless times of analyzing my darkest nights, embarrassments, failures, flaws, and bad choices of judgement. Only then could I have the viability to notice what I’m looking at when I come to a fork in the road. I will only see what I put myself in position to see.
When we set standards and expectations for ourselves based on our experiences, we condense a range of possibilities into one meaningful path. This life is 100 percent our responsibility to handle. We should be inspired from where we started to where we currently stand; the future should be invigorating. We shouldn’t be discouraged or influenced by other bad roads we’ve taken. We can’t make fulfilling decisions until we own up for our past misjudgements. We’re flawed human beings; we’re also made in God’s image. As long as we recognize that we never go down a road that isn’t destined to be.
